I, like many Americans, campaigned fiercely 8 years ago. For reasons that will be debated long after both you and I are gone, we lost. And in more ways than one.
I hope future generations read this book carefully and take note. You were elected because of a powerful rhetoric and mudslinging. What you offered in the campaign was what you delivered - smoke and mirrors.
I hope the children born during your reign of terror will forgive us. I hope the thousands of children that were sent to fight YOUR war will have not died in vein. I hope their families forgive us.
My hope is that our nation can heal from YOUR mini-Vietnam (Americas’ second war that was never meant to be won) as well as from an economy that has been devastated. I fear the country hasn’t learned its lesson and is buying into yet another smoke and mirrors performance with Obama, but that remains to be seen.
Goodbye GW. I cant begin to imagine how you must sleep at night. Money doesn’t buy peaceful rest.
