  • Thank you, George Bush, for all that you’ve done to the country. You’ve turned fear and paranoia into political tools. You’ve debased the quality of dialogue down to a grade-school playground. You’ve treated the nation’s economy like it was your own private corporation, then drove it into the ground for personal profit, like your buddy Ken Lay did at Enron. And, in the eyes of the world, you turned us into war-mongering assholes.

War and death are your legacy, although I really don’t think you care AT ALL. You’ve stripped away over 200 years of history, philosophy, and gains in humanity and steered us toward a nation George Orwell couldn’t have imagined, because we’re all so dumbed down by mindless consumerism. We let a spoiled son of privilege become president, a man who brought a history of drug abuse and failed business ventures. A man beholden to Middle-Eastern oil interests and the fringe right. We let the cheerleader coach the team, and now we’re losing badly.

All I pray is the you go away in January and keep your mouth shut. I don’t think you’ll even manage that.

Goodbye, Mr. Bush. You were never my president. Your laziness is the reason so many of my fellow New Yorkers died on that fateful day. Had you simply been doing your job, had you READ THE MEMO and responded accordingly, you could have thwarted the attacks that killed my city. But…  more »
