    • I take this opportunity to thank you and Mr. Cheney (and all the members and beneficiaries of your regime) for the realization that I am a conscientious objector to all war, beginning with that fought with bombs and bullets. Thanks to you I’ve re-read the American Constitution and am deeply appreciative of the Bill of Rights. Thanks to you I have a renewed appreciation for the difference between the truth and lies. Thanks to you I will never forget that to be a citizen is to be aware of and involved with my community at all levels.

    Farewell. I hope I need never be this thankful to a White House occupant again.
