Farewell 43 Submission Policy
To participate in Farewell 43 by submitting a message, comment or photograph, you must agree both the Farewell 43 Submission Policy and the Farewell 43 Terms of Use.
The Submission Policy
1) Stay On Topic
Farewell 43 is a collection of personal farewell messages to George W. Bush, the 43rd President of the United States of America.
Using Farewell 43 to express, in the form of a farewell message, your sentiments, personal thoughts, feelings, and opinions regarding the presidency of George W. Bush and how he and his administration have affected you, America, and the world, is on topic.
Anything else is not on topic.
2) Write A Well Thought Out Opinion.
Take some time to compose a message that says everything you want to say in just the way you want to say it. Well written messages will have a distinct advantage in the editing process should there be more messages than there is room in the book.
3) No Less Than 20 Words. No More Than 200 Words.
Please stay within these word count parameters.
Why no less than 20 words? We consider this a reasonable minimum word count for expressing a thoughtful opinion.
The previous paragraph is 19 words long. One more word and your message would be done.
Why no more than 200 words? As much as we would like to accommodate those wishing to write more, in order to include as many messages as possible in the book we are limiting message length to 200 words. This also protects the Farewell 43 web site from those who may try to damage it by posting overly long messages.
4) One Message Per Person
Multiple messages from the same person and IP address will be deleted. Please put your effort into composing one great message that says everything you want to say.
5) Valid Author Information.
Please be proud of your message and use your real name. If you are concerned about privacy, your first initial and last name, or first name and last initial is fine.
We need a valid email address. We have no plans to contact any contributor but should we need to, for example regarding your message being in the book, and we are unable to, we will have no choice but to delete the message. And we’d hate to do that.
We respect and value your privacy as we value or own. No email address will ever be viewable, shared, sold, or made public. Please read our privacy policy for more information.
6) No HTML Code Or URL’s In Messages.
Entering HTML code or any URL (web site address) within your message is forbidden.
If you wish, when submitting your message you may enter one web site address (URL) of your choice in the web site address field provided. You are responsible for the content of the URL you include. If the URL you submit contains content that is illegal, pornographic, or otherwise in breach of Farewell 43 submission policies your message will be deleted.
Photo Submissions
All photographs submitted to Farewell 43 must adhere to the same Policies and Terms of Use as written messages. In addition:
By submitting a photograph to Farewell 43 you confirm that you own all necessary rights and releases needed to legally publish the submitted photograph. Farewell 43 is not liable or responsible in whole or in part for any damages occurring because of failure on your part to secure such permissions before submission. You however, will be responsible for any damage that may occur to Farewell 43 because of such failure. So please be sure before your post a photo.
What Will Be Deleted Immediately
While first and foremost Farewell 43 is a free speech forum, the following are considered unacceptable and messages containing any of the following will at the sole discretion of Farewell 43 be deleted immediately.
- Any Content in violation of Farewell 43 policy or other applicable law.
- Spam (What is considered spam? Using Farewell 43 to promote yourself, a product, an organization, group, ideology, belief, or institution in a way that is not on topic. See Submission Policy item 1.
- Gibberish or nonsensical messages.
- Profane Rants. (Messages where profanity is the primary tone of the message.) Say what you feel but use your words please. Remember, children may read these messages.
- Message floods or messages crafted to cause harm to the Farewell 43 www site.
- Pornography
What Will Not Be Deleted
Any message in keeping with Farewell 43 policies that may simply be unpopular with a certain person or group of people.
